And just like that it's nearly the end of August which means it's nearly time for the beloved Storyteller journal collection to open up for pre-order!
This once a year extravaganza is one I relish in, it's a celebration of creativity and connection, both in and out of the bindery; connection with you, with family that help with the making, with my heritage, with my love of photography, painting and collecting family stories.
Over the past 6 years since the Storytellers were was first created and introduced to the Lotus Blu shop as little paperbacks they have gone through several changes to make the better, now they are available in three different sizes and with the option of two different kinds of paper.
Each one is made to order [so no worrying about missing out on your favourite design] and covered with beautiful organic linen printed in England using soy based ink and bound with sustainably made paper to paint, draw or write on.
Realising the vision I've always had for this collection has been most fulfilling. Inspired by a couple of vintage Persian trinket boxes that my maternal grandmother picked up on an epic road trip in a campervan halfway across the world, from Yorkshire, England to Karachi, Pakistan in the early 70's. Edna May was a rebel for her times, an adventurer and an avid gardener. Each journal is a memory of the flowers I grew up around, that tells a little story of my life, made for the poetry of yours.
With just over 1 week to go until this beloved collection opens for pre-orders it's time to get my skates on in the bindery as there is a lot of work that goes into setting up the extravaganza
There’ll be a preview of the full collection to follow in a few days including this year’s new edition to the collection.
