Looks beautiful! An exciting move! You could wallpaper the bottom half and paint the top? A muted light/mid green could look nice? You could paint the ceiling too, could make it's unusual shape look more purposeful? But anything is better than beige!
Thanks Rohan! I was actually thinking of painting the ceiling a different colour than boring white, I have been down an interior design rabbit hole on Pinterest lately and mesmerised by the concept of 'colour drenching' where ceiling and walls are the same colour. I do miss the pale terracotta I had painted my bindery a couple of years ago, it made me feel like I was in Italy! Wallpaper would definitely suit the bottom half and will make it a nice backdrop for product photos too. Thanks for the suggestions. Anything but beige, indeed! :D
Such exciting and serendipitous news Moneeza! What are the odds of finding a place to live with a bindery space and close to where you source your paper? Meant to be. And I love that there is space for workshops! I'll be moving back to Europe at the end of the year and would love to come to the Lakes District to do a face-to-face bookbinding workshop with you. I hooe that is something that will also become a wonderful reality.
Wishing you much luck and good energy for the move and bindery setup. A new chapter awaits🌸
I couldn't agree more – the serendipity of it all feels truly remarkable, I still can't quite believe it's happening. Once we get settled in, I hope in person workshops also manifest, it would be lovely to see you in the South Lakes. Good luck with your move back to Europe for when it comes!
I am elated for you with this new chapter, Moneeza. Reading your musings here coupled with your beautiful photos whisked me away into the splendor of the Lake District already. I wish I could just hop into one of those photos and start meandering around myself. I can hardly wait to see how you breathe your new space to life.
PS - even your packing looks like beautiful art in its own way. I will miss your old bindery though I am so excited for the dreamy new one that awaits. Cheering you from across the pond!
Thank you, friend! Your words are like a warm hug calming me as I am a bag of nerves today, there's so much to do! I could do with a friend like you here right now who understands I can't just chuck everything in removal boxes without some aesthetic arrangement, hehe, who knew filling up removal boxes could be an art form too! Brian thinks I've lost the plot, he's probably right! 😅
I'm thrilled that my musings and photos could transport you to the magic of the Lakes District which I'm looking forward to exploring once Spring kicks in, I've yet to see the actual lakes!
I'll miss the old bindery in Yorkshire too, but change brings its own kind of beauty, right? Your cheers from across the pond mean a lot. I'm looking forward to a proper catch with you soon in our tree fort! xo
